When does Bilt Cash expire?

Since October 27, 2026, each Bilt Cash award expires at 11:59 p.m. PT on the last day of the month, 12 months after you earn it. Bilt Cash earned on October 10, 2026 expires on October 31, 2027. The rule covers Bilt Cash you already earned. The old year-end deadline and the $100 rollover cap are gone.
TL;DR
Bilt Cash Terms section 1.6: "Any Bilt Cash that you have earned will expire on the last day of the month that is twelve (12) months after it is earned, at 11:59 p.m. PT." Bilt spends the earliest-expiring award first.
The rule, and where it is written
Section 1.6 of the Bilt Cash Program Terms of Use (the file is titled October 2026) has the 11:59 p.m. PT sentence and the October 10 example. The Bilt Cash support article, updated October 27, 2026, drops the year-end deadline and the rollover limit, and uses February 7, 2026 expiring February 28, 2027. The newsroom post that day matches them.
The Card 2.0 Program Overview repeats the new rule in its October 27 section. Lower on that same page, an older line still says Bilt Cash over $100 expires at year-end. That line was still there on Oct 29, 2026. This page follows the terms, the Oct 27 Bilt Cash article, and the Oct 27 section of the overview.
Find your expiry date
The month you earn the award is the month it expires, one year later, on the last day. February 2027 has 28 days. Bilt's own February example uses February 28, 2027.
Awards earned before October 27, 2026 follow this rule too. Section 1.6 says any Bilt Cash you have earned expires on that schedule, and Bilt's February 7, 2026 example is an award from before the change. November and December 2025 are left off the table: those awards already faced the old year-end rule.

Bilt's examples sit inside those months. Earned February 7, 2026: February 28, 2027. Earned October 10, 2026: October 31, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. PT.

The Bilt Cash article says you can view your balance, available credits, and redemption options in the Wallet tab of the app or on bilt.com. Section 1.7 of the terms says you can view and manage Bilt Cash on bilt.com or in the Bilt app. Use the table for the month, then check the app for your own awards.

The "before" column is the old answer that is still sitting lower on the Card 2.0 overview, plus Bilt's description of what ended. Do not plan a December 31 sweep from that old answer.
Ways to use it before the date
Bilt's Bilt Cash article lists the redemptions and their caps. A short set, not the catalog: $10 a month toward Lyft; dining and delivery credits with their own monthly caps; hotel credit in the Bilt Travel Portal. Hotel redemptions are monthly through December 31, 2026 ($50 Blue and Silver, $100 Gold and Platinum). From January 1, 2027 they are twice a year, up to $50, $100, or $200 for eligible Palladium cardholders on the refreshed benefits. Obsidian and Palladium can also spend $200 Bilt Cash on a Point Accelerator (+1X on the next $5,000, up to five times a year).

Refunds, transfers, and closing the card
All of this is from the Bilt Cash Terms and the Card 2.0 Program Overview, read on Oct 29, 2026.
Earliest date first. Section 1.6 says Bilt Cash is used "first expiring, first out," so the award with the earliest expiration date is redeemed first.
Refunds keep the original date. If redeemed Bilt Cash comes back because of a refund, a redemption failure, a cancellation, or a similar event, it keeps its original expiration date. If that date has already passed, it is not returned and is forfeited.
No cash, and you cannot give it away. Section 1.3 says Bilt Cash has no cash value until it is redeemed as the terms allow, is not redeemable for cash, and cannot be paid out to a bank account, by ACH, wire, check, or similar. Section 1.5 says it cannot be transferred, sold, or pooled between accounts.
Closing the card. Bilt's Card 2.0 Program Overview says: "Closing your Bilt Card will stop you from earning rewards with the card, but your existing Bilt Points and Bilt Cash will remain in your account." Section 4 of the Bilt Cash Terms is a different step: if the Bilt Account itself is closed, by you or by Bilt, unredeemed Bilt Cash is forfeited.
FAQ
Does Bilt Cash expire?
Yes. Under section 1.6, each award expires at 11:59 p.m. PT on the last day of the month, 12 months after you earn it.
Did the new rule apply to my existing balance?
Yes. Section 1.6 covers any Bilt Cash you have earned. Bilt's support article uses February 7, 2026, which is before the October 27 change, as an example of the new date.
Is there still a rollover limit?
No. The Bilt Cash article updated October 27, 2026 says there is no longer a year-end deadline and no rollover limit. The newsroom post the same day says there is no more year-end expiration or rollover.
Which Bilt Cash is used first?
The award that expires soonest. You do not choose the order. Section 1.6 and the support article both say Bilt does this automatically.
What if a redemption is refunded after the expiry date?
Section 1.6 says the returned Bilt Cash keeps its original expiration date, and if that date has passed it is forfeited instead of returned.
Does Bilt Cash expire if I close my card?
No. Bilt's Card 2.0 Program Overview says: "Closing your Bilt Card will stop you from earning rewards with the card, but your existing Bilt Points and Bilt Cash will remain in your account." Closing the whole Bilt Account is different: section 4 of the Bilt Cash Terms says unredeemed Bilt Cash is then forfeited.
